Karuizawa T-SITE with Your Dog
Karuizawa T-SITE sits directly beside Karuizawa Station, built on the site of the old Shin-etsu rail line that was left behind when the Hokuriku Shinkansen opened. For visitors arriving from Tokyo, that makes it about as convenient as a stop can be: no taxi, no bus, just a short walk from the platform.
Same family as Commongrounds
Karuizawa T-SITE is run by the same company behind Karuizawa Commongrounds in Naka-Karuizawa and Daikanyama T-SITE in Tokyo. That shared ownership shows up throughout, in the shops, the workspace, and a few of the restaurants that carry over between the two Karuizawa sites.
Shopping with your dog

The complex opened in March 2026 across six buildings, with around sixteen shops spread between food, retail and services. Many are omiyage shops: a dashi specialist, a chocolatier, and a small local convenience shop stocking goods from the local area, Japan, and abroad. Dogs on lead can browse some of these alongside you, but shop policy varies, so check at the door.
Working from T-SITE
SHARE LOUNGE, the coworking space within the complex, is the same brand you'll find at Commongrounds. The lounge features a special dog-friendly area, so you can settle in with your laptop and your dog by your side.
Eating outside with your dog

A handful of the restaurants have outdoor terraces where dogs can join you, and some names carry over from Commongrounds: OSOBAR STATION, the soba restaurant regulars there will recognise, and SHOZO COFFEE, known there for its scones.

If you've spent time at Commongrounds, T-SITE will feel familiar, just steps from the Shinkansen station instead of a fifteen-minute walk from Naka-Karuizawa.
Where dogs can't go
AQUAIGNIS GARDEN SPA, the bathing facility on site, and HACIENDA KARUIZAWA, the small hotel within the complex, are off-limits to pets.
A gateway to Karuizawa
For an atmospheric stop immediately off the Shinkansen, Karuizawa T-SITE offers a lot: souvenirs, coffee, a place to work, and a seat outside for you and your dog before the next leg of your visit.
